RESULTS
The bacterial growth is determined by medium turbidity and gas production (bubbles on the surface, close to the parrafin oil film).
DESCRIPTION
Enrichment medium for the cultivation of Gram-positive anaerobic sporogenic
bacteria (Clostridium and related species).

COMPOSITION
Nutrient broth with pieces of liver or fat-free minced cooked meat of ox heart, 0.5–1%
glucose and casein hydrolysate.

PROCEDURE
The medium should be heated before inoculation for 10-15 minutes and rapidly
cooled, in order to remove the oxygen. After inoculation, the medium will be covered
with a film of paraffin oil or vaseline. The inoculated culture is reheated at 80°C for 20
minutes to kill non-spore-forming bacteria.
