Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Pseudomonadales, Family Pseudomonadaceae,
Genus Pseudomonas, Pseudomonas reidholzensis Frasson et al. 2017.
Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.5-0.9 x 1.0-2.2 µm. Motile. Non-spore-forming.
Fluorescent pigment is produced on King B agar by P. reidholzensis. Grows at 4-37
ºC (optimum growth temperature is 25-30 ºC) and in 0-6% NaCl (w/v).
Isolated from forest soil sample of Reidholz forest between the cities Wadenswil and Richterswil, Switzerland.

Description is based on APi 20 E, API 20 NE, API ZYM and Biolog GN2 results.
Positive results for acid phosphatase, arginine dihydrolase, catalase, citrate utilization, aesculin hydrolysis, esterase (C4), leucine
arylamidase, nitrate reduction,naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase, oxidase, tryptophane deaminase, acid production from: glucose
and melibiose.
Can assimilate (API 20 NE) as sole carbon source: glucose, capric acid, malate, potassium gluconate (contradictory results - admin
note) and trisodium citrate.
Can utilize (Biolog GN2 MicroPlate) the following substrates: Tween 80, alpha-D-glucose, methyl pyruvate, cis-aconitic acid, citric acid,
D-gluconic acid, beta-hydroxybutyric acid, D-saccharic acid, alpha-ketoglutaric acid, DL-lactic acid, propionic acid, quinic acid, succinic
acid, bromosuccinic acid, glucuronamide, D- and L-alanine, L-asparagine, L-aspartic acid, L-glutamic acid, L-histidine,
hydroxy-L-proline, L-leucine, L-proline, L-serine, DL-carnitine, gamma-aminobutyric acid, putrescine, 2-aminoethanol and glycerol.
No utilization of: L-arabinose, D-arabitol, D-mannitol, sucrose, D-galacturonic acid, D-glucuronic acid, malonic acid and phenylacetic
acid.
