Synonym: Mesolisteria goaensis (Doijad et al. 2018) Bouznada et al. 2024.
Gram-positive, short rods. Non-motile at 24, 30 or 37 ºC.
Colonies after incubation for 24 h at 30 ºC are white, opaque, slightly elevated,
features and range from 1 to 1.5 mm in diameter. On PALCAM agar, pinpoint greenish
grey colonies with a zone of aesculin hydrolysis are produced. The optimal growth
temperature is between 30-37 ºC; however, growth also occurs at 18 and 42 ºC. Grow
at pH 5.5-9 with optimal growth at pH 7 and in the presence of up to 12.5% sodium
chloride in BHI broth. Weak alpha-haemolysis on 5% sheep and horse-blood agar
plates is produced..
Isolated from the sediment of estuarine mangrove swamp of the river Mandovi, Goa, India.
Undetermined.
