Gram-positive rods, 0.7-1.1 / 1.3-2.4 μm, occurring singly or in pairs. Non-motile.
Nonspore-forming.
Colonies are white, opaque, slightly umbonate, glistening, 1-2 mm in diameter after
incubation on MRSF agar (MRS with 20 g/l fructose) under anaerobic conditions.
Grows at 17-30 ºC, optimally at 28 ºC, at pH 4.5-7.0, optimally at pH 5.0 and in 0-0.5%
NaCl. Obligately fructophilic. Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from the homogenate of the bush bee (Austroplebeia australis), an Australian stingless bee species.
Undetermined.
