Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive rods with rounded ends, 0.5-0.6 x 1.3-2.3 µm. Non-motile.
Non-spore-forming
Colonies grown on TSA plate supplemented with 5% horse blood are approximately
0.5-1.0 mm in diameter, circular, smooth, ivory, and convex for 48 h at 37 ºC under
anaerobic condition. Grows at 30-45 ºC and in pH 6.0-8.0. Optimal growth occurrs at
37 ºC, at pH 7.0 and in the presence of up to 3% (w/v) NaCl but not at salinity levels
higher than 4%. Strictly anaerobic.
Isolated from the small intestine of a swine.
Undetermined.
