Gram-negative rods, 0.60-2.2 µm. Motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are 0.5-1 mm in diameter on blood-enriched Columbia agar. Growth occurs
between 25 and 45 ºC, with optimal growth observed at 30 ºC. Strictly anaerobic.
Isolated from the stool of a healthy Senegalese patient. Susceptible to amoxicillin, imipenem, metronidazole and ciprofloxacin.
Resistant to trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, rifampin, doxycycline and gentamicin.
Undetermined.
