Phylum Bacillota, Class Erysipelotrichia, Order Erysipelothrichales, Family Erysipelotrichaceae, Genus Copranaerobaculum,
Copranaerobaculum intestinale Feng et al. 2022, type species of the genus.
Gram-negative rods, 2-4 x 8-40 μm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming. Capsule is not
produced.
Colonies (48-72 h) on YCFA agar were very small, 0.5-1.5 mm in diameter, circular,
slightly convex, grey-white, glistening, and centrally opaque. Growth occurs at 25-45
ºC (optimum, 30-35 ºC) and in the presence of 0-3.5% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 0.5-1.5
%). Strictly anaerobic, no growth in 5% CO2 air.
Isolated from human faeces collected at the Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology of Beijing, PR China.
Undetermined.
