Gram-positive rods, 0.3-0.4 x 0.8-2.5 μm, occuring in chains. Non-motile. Non-spore-
forming.
Temperature range of growth 15-40 ºC, optimum between 15 and 30 ºC. pH range of
growth 6-11; optimum at pH 7-10. Strictly anaerobic to slightly aerotolerant.
Isolated from the intestinal tract of the cockroach Shelfordella lateralis.
Undetermined.
