Amedibacillus hominis Abdugheni et al. 2023.
Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are 2-3 mm in diameter after 2 days of incubation at 37 ºC on mGAM agar
plates, white, convex, circular, entire, opaque and smooth. Grows at the temperature
range of 30-45 ºC (optimum 37 ºC), and at pH 6.0-7.5 (optimum pH, 6.5-7.0). Cells
tolerate 0-4.5% (w/v) NaCl. No aerobic growth.
Isolated from a faecal sample from a healthy Chinese adult.
Susceptible to cefixime, amoxicillin, chloromycetin, ciprofloxacin, cefoperazone, carbenicillin, penicillin, clindamycin, polymyxin,
bacitracin, vancomycin, tetracycline and ampicillin. Resistant to azithromycin, rifampin, kanamycin, streptomycin, erythromycin and
clarithromycin.
Undetermined.
