Raoultella, Raoultella electrica Kimura et al. 2014.
Gram-negative rods, 0.3-0.4 x 3.0-6.0 μm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on LB agar are circular, smooth, glistening, light yellow and 5.0 mm in
diameter after 2 days of incubation at 37 ºC. Growth occurrs at temperatures from 10-
41 ºC, but not at 5 or 50 ºC. Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from anodic biofilms of a microbial fuel cell fed with glucose as an electron donor.

D-adonitol, D-arabitol, arbutin, L-arabinose, cellobiose, D-fructose, D-galactose, D-glucose, glycerol, gentiobiose, inositol, lactose,
maltose, melezitose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, melibiose, methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside, N-acetylglucosamine, raffinose, D-ribose,
D-sorbitol, L-sorbose, sucrose, trehalose, D-xylose, aesculin, citrate and salicin.
Negative results for H2S production, indole production, ornithine decarboxylase, oxidase, tryptophan deaminase, utilization/fermentation
of D-arabinose, L-arabitol, dulcitol, erythritol, D- and L-fucose, glycogen, D-lyxose, gluconate, inulin, 2-ketogluconate, methyl
beta-D-xylopyranoside, methyl alpha-D-mannopyranoside, L-rhamnose, starch, D-tagatose, turanose, xylitol and L-xylose.
