Phylum Pseudomonadota (Proteobacteria), Class Gammaproteobacteria, Order Enterobacteriales, Family Enterobacteriaceae,
Genus Kosakonia, Kosakonia quasisacchari Kampfer et al. 2018.
Gram-negative. Motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies after 24 h of incubation on nutrient agar at 35 ºC are white circular and 2 mm
in diameter. Growth occurs at 4-40 ºC (optimally at 35-37 ºC), not at 2, 42, 45 or 50 ºC.
Grows at pH 5.0-10.0 (optimally at 6.0-7.0), and in TSB containing 0-9 % (w/v) NaCl.
Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from a wound secretion sample of a patient in West China Hospital of Sichuan University in Chengdu, China.

glycerol, lactose, maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose, D-ribose, D-sorbitol, trehalose, L-rhamnose, methyl-alpha-D-glucopyranoside,
N-acetylglucosamine, salicin, sucrose, and D-xylose.
Negative results for gelatinase, H2S production, indole production, lysine decarboxylase, methyl red test, ornithine decarboxylase,
oxidase, urease, acid production from D-adonitol, D-arabitol, D-arabinose, dulcitol, erythritol, D- and L-fucose, gluconate, 2- and
5-ketogluconate, inositol, inulin, D-lyxose, melezitose, melibiose, methyl-alpha-D-mannopyranoside, raffinose, L-sorbose,
methyl-beta-D-xylopyranoside, L-xylose, and xylitol.
