Genus Izhakiella, Izhakiella australiensis Ji et al. 2017.
Species description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-negative rods, 0.5-0.8 x 1.0-1.6 μm. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
After 24 h of incubation on LB agar at 30 ºC, colonies are circular, smooth, transparent
and colourless. Growth occurs at 10-37 ºC (optimum 25-30 ºC); no growth at 41 ºC.
Facultatively anaerobic. Grows on MacConkey agar without fermenting lactose.
Isolated from an Australian desert soil.
Undetermined.
