Gram-positive rods of various shapes in TPY broth and form a branched structure
with a ‘Y’ on both sides. Non-motile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies are circular with entire margins, white, opaque, smooth and 1.0-2.5 mm in
diameter on TPY agar after 2 days of anaerobic incubation. Non-haemolytic. Growth
temperature 25-50 ºC, optimum 40 ºC. Grows at pH 4.0-7.5, optimum pH 6.0.
Facultatively anaerobic.
Isolated from the faeces of an adult cotton-top tamarin (Saguinus oedipus L.).
