alkanexedens Wang et al. 2016.
Gram-negative coccoid cells, 0.6-0.8 µm. Nonmotile. Non-spore-forming.
Colonies on NA and TSA plates are 2.5-4.0 mm, slightly yellow to light brown in
colour, smooth and circular with regular margins after 36 hours of aerobic incubation.
The temperature range for growth is 4-52 ºC with an optimum at 30 to 35 ºC. The pH
range for growth is pH 5.1-9.7 with optimal growth at pH 8.5. Does not need NaCl for
growth, but tolerates up to 5.3 % (w/v) NaCl.
Isolated from a biogas slurry sample enriched with diesel oil.
Undetermined.
