Gram negative, curved cells, 2-3 x 1 µm, motile by one polar, sheathed flagellum.
Can grow in nutrient broth with: 2% to 6% NaCl, no growth in 0% or 8% NaCl.
Colonies on TSA are translucent, non-swarming , round with entire margins (48 h./20
°C). Colonies are yellow, translucent, 5 mm in diameter on TCBS agar (48 h./20 °C).
Cells can grow at 4 °C
Isolated from cultured oysters in La Tremblade, France. Susceptible to vibriostatic agent O/129.
Isolated from the haemolymph of diseased cultured oysters (Crassostrea gigas).
