Gram-positive, ovoid shaped cells, grouped in short chains. Cells are nonpigmented,
non-haemolytic and non-motile. Spores are not produced.
Growth at 37 and 45 °C. No growth at 10 °C. Facultatively anaerobic.Bile-aesculin-positive, can grow in broth containing 6.5%NaCl.
Media: Trypticase soy agar with 5% sheep blood, Brain heart infusion agar or broth.
Isolated from human urine.
