Gram-positive cocci, grouped in pairs, short chains or small groups. Non-motile.
Yellow-pigmented colonies. No growth in the presence of 0.04% tellurite.
Growth is positive at 10 - 40 °C, but not at 45 °C. Grow in 6.5% NaCl medium.
Isolated from plants.

alpha-methyl-D-glucoside, alpha-methyl-D-mannoside, D-raffinose, ribose, sucrose &
trehalose.
Negative results for alkaline phosphatase, arginine dehydrolase, beta-glucuronidase, hippurate hydrolysis, acid production from:
adonitol, D-arabitol, D- or L-arabinose, L-arabitol, dulcitol, erythritol, D- or L-fucose, glycerol, glycogen, inositol, inulin, D-lyxose,
mannitol, rhamnose, sorbitol ,L-sorbose, D-tagatose, xylitol, D- or L-xylose.
