Gram-positive cocci, 1-1.6 μm diameter,  nonmotile, nonsporing.
Opaque, white, 2-6 mm / 48h, S-type colonies. Facultatively anaerobic, 20-40 ºC
(optimum 30 ºC). Growth media: P agar, Trypticase Soy Agar ± 5% sheep blood
Trypticase Soy Broth.
Isolated from goats of the Himalayan region (4 strains isolated only: 3 nasal swabs & 1 lung sample).
Resistant to novobiocin, bacitracin, vibriostatic agent O/129, lysozyme, metronidazole and optochin. Susceptible to lysostaphin.
Unknown. Isolated from Nepal goats with respiratory disorders together with other bacteria.

Variable results for acid production from: sorbitol, D-arabitol, turanose & xylitol.
