Gram negative, 0.8 x 1.6 μm, rods with rounded end. Motile with polar flagella.
Endospores are not formed. Do not accumulate granules of poly-beta-hydroxybutyrate.
Colonies on nutrient agar are smooth, entire, flat to convex, and creamy yellow (water
insoluble pigment). Pyocyanin is not produced.Growth occurs at 4°C but not at 37°C.
Growth does not occur at pH 3.6. Aerobic.
Media: Nutrient Agar or Tryptic Soy Agar.
Isolated from rice & other plants (cereals).
