Gram-negative, rod-shaped cells, 1 μm x 2–3 μm, with rounded ends, non-spore-
forming, non-fluorescent, motile.
Colonies are 1–2 mm, smooth, round with irregular edges and beige (after 24 h
incubation at 28 ºC on TSA).
Aerobic, After 24 h, good growth is observed at 22–28 ºC, but not at 4 ºC or above 37
ºC.
Isolated from nitrifying inoculum (activated sludge).
