Synonym: Haemophilus sp. minor group
Gram negative, small rods, 1.6 - 2.4 µm, non-motile, non-sporulated.
Colonies are graysh and smooth on chocolate agar; 0.8 mm in diameter after 48
hours of incubation. Hemolysis negative. V-factor dependent growth.
Isolated from the upper respiratory tracts of pigs , where they constitute part of the residing mucosal flora
Is not pathogenic to pigs and have a low potential for colonization of the upper respiratory tract of gnotobiotic piglets.
