Gram-negative rods with rounded ends. Non-spore-forming. Motile by a polar tuft of
flagella.
Colonies on Ashdown agar plate are smooth with dark violet pigmentation and on
heart infusion agar with or without 4% glycerol are also smooth and glistening. Failed
to grow at 41 ºC. Non-haemolytic. Can grow on MacConkey agar.
Isolated from surface soil along the roadside in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand.
