Description is based on a single isolate.
Gram-positive, motile rods. Produce ellipsoidal spores in swollen sporangia.
Round colonies and non-pigmented on R2A agar. Aerobic. No anaerobic growth.
Optimum growth temperature 30-37 ºC. Optimum pH 6-8.
Isolated from the estuarine wetland of the Han river, South Korea.

Positive results for hydrolysis of starch, beta-galactosidase, acid production from:
aesculin, amygdalin, L-arabinose, cellobiose, galactose, gentiobiose, D-glucose,
glycogen, 5-keto-gluconate, lactose, D-lyxose, maltose, D-mannitol, melibiose,
raffinose, salicin, sucrose, starch, trehalose, xylitol & D-xylose.
Negative results for arginine dihydrolase, catalase, oxidase, nitrate reduction,
hydrolysis of casein, hydrolysis of gelatin, hydrolysis of urea, indole production,
citrate utilization, acid production from: N-acetylglucosamine, adonitol, D-arabinose, D- or L-arabitol, arbutin, dulcitol, erythritol,
fructose, D- or L-fucose, glycerol, inositol, inulin, 2-keto-gluconate, mannose, melezitose, rhamnose, ribose, sorbitol, sorbose &
L-xylose.
