Gram-negative coccobacilli. Nonmotile. Nonsporulated.
Colonies on nutrient agar are circular, convex, smooth and slightly opaque. Aerobic.
Nonhemolytic on horse blood agar. Growth occurs at 37 and 41 ºC, but not at 44 ºC.
Isolated from activated sludge in Victoria, Australia.

D-glucosaminic acid, D-glucuronic acid, L-ornithine, D-serine, L-serine, thymidine, L-alanyl glycine, glycyl-L-aspartic acid,
glycyl-Lglutaric acid, inosine, uridine, thymidine, DL-alpha-glycerol phosphate, glucose 1-phosphate,  glucose 6-phosphate,
cis-Aconitate, pimelate, trans-aconitate, adipate, 4-aminobutyrate, azelate, citrate, glutarate, malonate, oxoisocaprate, suberate,
beta-alanine, L-aspartate, L-glutamate, L-leucine, L-phenylalanine, L-tryptophan, 4-hydroxybenzoate and phenylacetate.

Acid is not produced from glucose, D-sucrose, D-mannitol, dulcitol, salicin, D-maltose, D-trehalose, methyl beta-D-xyloside and
m-erythritol.
